Domremy College
is a Catholic School Communitiy committed to the education of young
women in the presentation tradition. Through quality teaching and
learning we strive to empower students to:
- recognise
their self worth and reach their potential;
- work towards independence;
- become women of courage and integrity;
- question and challenge the values of society;
- work for justice;
- promote the dignity of the human person.
Our hope is that through their continuous search for the truth, our students
will contribute to the transformation of society.
" You
will know the truth and the truth will make you free"
John 8:32
Our
Vision:
Domremy
College, as an authentic Catholic school has a unique contribution
to make to Australian society. It will be essentially a community
of faith, based on belief in God and a Christian way of life.
The Christian spirit and Gospel values will take precedence over
all other values and will permeate all areas of learning and
school life, determining the whole atmosphere of the school.
The school makes a commitment to:
- assist our
students towards a better understanding and appreciation of Catholic
teaching and tradition.
- develop
a community in which all - students, families, staff and clergy
have a sense of belonging and pride.
- promote
unity within the school while educating students to value their
own cultural heritage.
- develop in
students a consciousness of their responsibility to themselves
and others within the school, the local, and international community.
- enable students
to realise and appreciate their own potential and recognise their
role in developing a living Church.
- encourage
students to participate effectively in society and promote truth,
hope, freedom, justice and equality.
- promote responsible
action in the use and protection of our immediate and global
environment.
- develop skills
and promote attitudes necessary for a sense of independence,
uniqueness and self worth.
- encourage
students to participate actively and generously in the process
of learning and to realise that learning is a lifelong process.
- offer a wide
curriculum and to create a learning environment which will provide
each and every student with the best possible preparation for
her future.
